Graphic Design (Bachelor's)Building a successful portfolio is vitally important to the artist or graphic designer entering the workforce or graduate school. Troy University's Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Studio will help you to develop a compilation of work that expresses your innovation, mastery of skills, and ability to research and complete projects.

Art Education (Master's)Prepare for fulfilling arts administration jobs with the only program of its kind in Alabama — the Master of Arts in Arts Administration at Troy University. You'll build the skills to lead nonprofit arts organizations like museums, galleries, performing arts centers, theatres and groups such as symphonies, choral societies, arts councils and dance companies.
Arts Administration (Master's)3D Printing, also known as Additive Manufacturing, is constructively disrupting manufacturing sectors bringing digital design and fabrication technologies to an array of industries.
This program offers students the opportunity to learn the skills required to design and be productive with 3D printing. The courses begin with the fundamentals then continue with a range of applied learning projects, practical design and printing experience, and general industry knowledge. TROY is a leader in distance education and international education. With locations
in multiple countries around the world, it stands to reason that TROY would lead in
this area. The University-at-large offers a growing number of study abroad opportunities
for students and faculty. These opportunities can be learned about through the Office of International Programsand through various Departments throughout the University.
The Department of Art and Design along with the College of Communication and Fine
Arts offers unique travel opportunities emphasizing communication and the arts. Over
the past several years, Art and Design has sponsored or co-sponsored study abroad
initiatives to Kenya, Tanzania, England, Denmark, Sweden, France, Italy and more.
These international experiences are far more than extensive field trips: they are

The Department of Art and Design also has established a Departmental Study Abroad

Since 2004, TROY and Halmstad University of Sweden have enjoyed a maturing partnership
in design education. Students from Halmstad have come to TROY to study art and design
as well as other subject areas. In turn, TROY students have studied multimedia design
and Scandinavian culture by attending school in Halmstad.
This partnership has opened the door to many exciting possibilities to cooperate with
other disciplines as well as other countries. iC3 has been instrumental in setting up both short-term and long-term collaborations for
academic and cultural purposes.

Troy University's online graphic design program has been ranked first in the nation
by Forbes Advisor. A division of Forbes magazine, Forbes Advisor recently issued a
ranking of the top 10 accredited, nonprofit universities that offer an online graphic
design program. Using the categories of credibility, affordability, student outcomes,
student experience and the application process, TROY's program ranked the highest.
The program core consists of 41 credits and includes studies in motion graphics, typography,
user interface, concept and process and the business of art and design. Students must
complete a client-focused design studio course and a thesis exhibition showcasing
their original work and research.
External, Forbes Ranking
Trojan Art Day offers workshops, demonstrations, and mini competitions led by students
and faculty from the Department of Art and Design. The morning's activities precede
the District II Visual Arts Achievement Program awards ceremony, which concludes the
week-long art competition sponsored by the Alabama State Council on the Arts and exhibited
in the International Arts Center. A grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts
partially funds both Trojan Art Day & VAAP.
