Ask TROY

At the John M. Long School of Music, you will have the chance to learn from world-class teachers, scholars, conductors, composers and performers. From 2D to 3D art studies to photography and design, the Department of Art and Design offers programs that prepare you to be more than just creative employees, but agents for cultural, social and economic change.

Combining critical thinking with practical, hands-on experience, the students at the Hall School of Journalism and Communication are truly prepared to launch successfully into careers in newspaper, radio, television, public relations, advertising and other fields. These students can gain valuable experience on the University’s student newspaper, The Tropolitan, or on air with the University’s television network TROY TrojanVision.

Guided by outstanding faculty, Communication Studies students will learn the practical application of strategies of persuasion, organizational communication, conflict management and leadership.

If you are looking to explore other cultures, the CCFA offers instruction in six foreign languages: Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Ancient Greek, and Latin. With study-abroad opportunities in Ecuador, France, Italy, Mexico, Spain and China, you will be certain to gain valuable culture immersion experience that will bring your education to life.

And uniting all studies within the CCFA, the Department of Theatre and Dance offers an education that truly encompasses all the arts. Those looking to take the stage, or even those who prefer to remain behind the scenes, can find a place in one of the theater or dance programs.
