Welcome to the Confucius Institute at Troy University. Established in 2007, the Confucius Institute at Troy University, with support from Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters, is a public institution affiliated with the Chinese Ministry of Education and is charged with bringing to the people of Alabama knowledge of China that will serve the state in the areas of business, education, cultural, and public interests throughout the state of Alabama.

Confucius Institute at Troy University was awarded ‘Confucius Institute of the Year’. With over 200 countrywide, only the top six Confucius Institutes in the U. S. were awarded this prize.

Liu Yandong, State councillor of the People’s Republic of China presented the prize to Dr. Iris Hong Xu, Director of Confucius Institute at Troy University, Alabama, USA.
