TROY - Troy University's Department of Theatre and Dance will present the musical “The Single Girl's Guide" Oct. 18-21 in the Trojan Center Performing Arts Theatre on the Troy Campus.
Nightly shows will be held Oct. 18, 19 and 21 at 7:30 p.m., while a 2:30 p.m. performance will be held on Oct. 20. Tickets are $10 for general admission, student tickets are $5.00 with TROY ID.
Set in in the stylish world of 1964 Manhattan, the musical follows Emma Woodhouse, who is about to turn 30 and is under the gun to get married when she's asked to take over a household advice column. In a bold move, she plucks a single girl from obscurity and sets out to transform her life, setting into motion a wave of excitement that culminates in hilarious calamity at Truman Capote's Black and White Ball.
The musical is based on the book by Gordon Greenburg and features music and lyrics by TROY alumnus Tommy Newman.
