TROY to announce partnership with flight training company
May 8, 2 p.m.; Troy Municipal Airport: Troy University, the City of Troy and Mauna Loa Helicopters will announce the creation of a new program aimed at training commercial pilots at the main terminal building at the Troy Municipal Airport. The event will begin at 2 p.m.
Beginning at 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., orientation flights for media will be available with Mauna Loa aircraft. These flights, in fixed wing training aircraft, will last 15 minutes in duration and will allow media to get background footage and still photography from inside the aircraft. Media wishing to take advantage of this opportunity must contact Clif Lusk via email at email@example.com no later than Wednesday at 12 p.m. to schedule.
May 9, 10 a.m.; Trojan Arena: Troy University's commencement exercises will begin at 10 a.m. in Trojan Arena. The keynote speaker is General Victor E. "Gene" Renuart (ret.), former commander of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) who earned a Master of Arts degree in psychology from TROY.
Board of Trustees meeting
May 9, 2 p.m.; Hawkins Hall Conference Room (3rd floor): Troy University's Board of Trustees will meet with an agenda that includes an update on the Alabama Open Meetings Act, a report by the Academic Affairs Committee, a Finance Committee report, a Student Affairs Committee report and a report by the Athletic Policy Committee.
