Historical Sketch:
The Chimes was a band from southeastern Alabama. The band included Doug Morris (bass), Doug’s brother David Morris (drums), Frank Tanton (keyboards and guitar) and a variety of guitarists, including Bruce Wallace, John Bedsole, David Adkins, and Lamar Alley. Bass player Doug Morris was eventually replaced by Kenneth Griffin. The band played at several local venues, including Little Wheels Enlisted Men’s Club at Ft Rucker and regional teen Dance halls. The Chimes released only one record, a 45rpm "single" featuring “#38” and “Foolish Pride,” for the Matrix label in 1968.
