Troy University offers a tuition discount and an application fee waiver to all full-time employees associated with our partners. Tuition scholarships are applicable to all university degree and certificate programs and can be used at all TROY locations. Proof of eligibility is required. The Retrodesign Project, a collaboration between Troy University’s Center for Design, Technology, and Industry and the TROY Phenix City Campus, provides students an opportunity to create academic projects that revisit the Phenix City Story from a cultural, historical, economic, and civic perspective. This collaboration also aims to create academic projects that foster teaching and learning opportunities by way of creative education and design thinking.

In the Fall of 2021, students enrolled in Design Studio (ART 4424) were tasked with researching local businesses in operation between 1945-55 within the Phenix City community. Students were required to create 1) business signage, 2) an advertisement, 3) a mural proposal, 4) a hand-painted distressed sign, and 5) Tee shirt designs for production which resulted in students gaining invaluable experience in creative community investigation and investment for economic sustainability.
