Despite challenges presented by the coronavirus pandemic during the 2020-21 academic year, the Manuel H. Johnson Center for Political Economy (“the Center”) accomplished great things. The Center established a new five-year strategic plan during the fall of 2020 and is working hard to institute programming and activities that align with it. We are excited about the future of the Center and looking forward to new opportunities.
This report contains a snapshot-formatted survey of the Center’s programs and activities from the past academic year. Because the Center’s faculty interests and achievements are many and varied, this report cannot summarize all of them. Our faculty are involved with numerous organizations and have published and spoken widely in different fora, both local and national, so an exhaustive account of their work is beyond of the scope of this report. However, this report highlights some of the most public work of the Center and its faculty and details the Center’s current financial situation.
