Rehabilitation & Disability Studies
This major is available through the Troy, Dothan, and Phenix City campuses.
AREA I-V Recommendations
AREA I:
A grade of "C" or higher is required in Composition I and II at Troy University. "D" grades will not transfer.
AREA II:
When selecting courses from Areas II and IV, please note that at least one 6sh sequence in either Literature (Area II) or History (Area IV) must be completed.
AREA III:
A grade of "C" or higher is required in the Math course chosen. "D" grades will not transfer.
AREA IV:
When selecting courses from Areas II and IV, please note that at least one 6sh sequence in either Literature (Area II) or History (Area IV) must be completed.
AREA V:
NOTE: In Area V, TROY does not require another History sequence/Intro to Sociology/Music Appreciation/Anthropology/American National Government/or Macroeconomics. If completed, they will apply as free electives.)
The remaining 19SH in Area V should be completed by taking 19SH from the following:
- CIS 146 (Microcomputer Applications) (3 SH)
- ORI 101 (Orientation to College) (1 SH)
- PSY 210 (Human Growth & Development) (3 SH) – if not taken in Area IV
- PSY 230 (Abnormal Psychology) (3 SH)
- Free Electives or Intended Area of Study for TROY Minor (1-9 SH)
Troy University Baccalaureate Degrees
The student seeking a baccalaureate degree must meet the following credit hour requirements:
- A minimum of 120 SH
- At least 50 percent of the degree program must be traditional academic credit.
- No more than 25 percent of the degree program may be earned using portfolio based credit.
- At least 25 percent of the degree program must be completed with Troy University.
- Twelve (12) semester hours of work in each major field must be completed in residence
at Troy University.
