About the Center
The Troy University Center for Materials and Manufacturing Sciences will house state
of the art research labs funded by the National Institute for Standards and Technology
for the purposes of research in polymer chemistry. Specifically, the CMMS will focus
on finding new ways to recycle existing plastics as well as developing biodegradable
plastics so as to combat the growing environmental challenge presented by plastic
waste currently filling our landfills and threatening our oceans.
