Dr. John Dove is an assistant professor of economics and a member of the Manuel H. Johnson Center for Political Economy in Troy University's Sorrell College of Business.
His main areas of research include state and local public finance, public choice, and political economy. His research has been published in such scholarly journals as Public Finance Review, Economic Systems, the American Journal of Entrepreneurship, Journal of Applied Economics and Policy, Business and Politics, Essays in Economic and Business History, Journal of Institutional Economics, Journal of Macroeconomics, Public Finance and Management, Journal of Public Finance and Public Choice, Constitutional Political Economy, and the Review of Austrian Economics.
Prior to joining the TROY faculty in 2013, Dr. Dove served as an assistant professor of economics at Mercer University. He received his bachelor's degree in Economics in 2005 from Hillsdale (Mich.) College, his master's in economics in 2008 from Central Michigan University, and his Ph.D. in economics in 2012 from West Virginia University.
